Abstract

The work will develop a pathway for the biomethane sector to monetise CO2 and identify the role the gas networks can play, reducing the long-term cost of gas decarbonisation.

Significant potential for new learning on the potential role of biomethane in our energy system as a green gas, the potential for sequestration of biogenic CO2 produced as the co-product of biomethane, and the role of the gas networks in enabling biogenic CO2 sequestration.
