Air Ingress in a Live Environment

Abstract

Using Cartrefi Hydrogen Home as a test case, this project will enable remote monitoring of air ingress phenomena within the home. The system will be used to characterise the current behaviour of the house and to investigate generic air ingress dynamics in a representative domestic hydrogen installation.

  • Develop a deeper understanding of real-life practices that can influence air ingress, such as isolation of the ECV during holiday periods or behaviours associated with pre-payment meters.
  • Investigate the impact of appliances on air ingress within domestic installations.
  • Establish the relationship between negative pressure events and air ingress rates.
