Demonstrating Downstream Procedures For Hydrogen

Abstract

This project involves a comprehensive set of tasks aimed at implementing and validating a domestic safety system for hydrogen use, including excess flow valves.

To date, an extensive series of projects have been undertaken, or are in-flight, to help address the HSE’s safety determinations for the use of hydrogen in the home. The collective outputs of a number of these projects relate to safety mitigations that have been identified and suggested in order to ensure that the risk associated with the use of hydrogen within a domestic setting dis as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP). Each of these different safety mitigations have been tested in isolation to prove their effectiveness as a standalone mitigation. WWU are looking to combine the different measures into a single system to test their effectiveness and combined performance.
